Building Department

A Building Permit is necessary for all new construction as well as for any alterations, replacements, or removals of existing structures, covering all disciplines such as structural, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical according to the Florida Building Code. The Building Division offers various services to residents, developers, and contractors, helping the City uphold high building standards and protect neighborhood property values. Our staff is here to assist and guide homeowners and contractors through the permit process for new constructions, renovations, and expansions of existing structures.

Don't Forget

Here are a few things to remember when having construction work done in or around your home or business. Hire licensed, insured and reputable contractors. Get a minimum of 3 quotes before signing a contract. Request references, licenses and insurance information for each contractor. Verify licenses with the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation. Verify and track your permit via E-Services, Permit Status, and Records.

Beware: Call the Building Department if you have any suspicion of fraud at 954-973-6750.
