Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off

Residents are invited to safely dispose of household hazardous waste and electronics at the upcoming Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Event in Coconut Creek.

The event will take place on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at 4800 W. Copans Road in Coconut Creek.

Drop-off services are free and available to residents of Coconut Creek, Coral Springs, Fort Lauderdale, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Lauderdale Lakes, Pompano Beach, and Tamarac. Participants must bring proof of residency in order to use the drop-off services. For additional information, please call 954-973-6780.

Household hazardous waste items that are accepted include paint thinner and stripper, paint (oil or latex), automobile fluids such as motor oil and engine coolant, pesticides, insecticides, fertilizers, pool chemicals, fluorescent tubes, flares, mercury thermometers, spot removers, oven and drain cleaners, furniture and metal polish, items containing mercury, batteries including rechargeable, automotive, and marine batteries, and propane tanks.

Items that are not accepted include biohazard or medical waste, explosives, tires, waste generated from businesses, and alkaline batteries such as AA, AAA, C, D, and 9V. Alkaline batteries should be disposed of with regular household garbage.

Electronic waste items that are accepted include computers, monitors, keyboards, computer mice, terminals, printers, fax machines, modems, cell phones, rechargeable batteries, televisions, desktop copiers, and scanners.

Electronic waste items that are not accepted include office furniture, stereos and speakers, musical instruments, DVD players or VCRs, appliances, microwave ovens, electronic hand tools, and general trash or debris.
