A man arrested for bringing a gun onto school property is the basis for this Coconut Creek Police Department Arrest Alert. The two school resource officers at Atlantic Tech College arrested Leonard Levy, age 71, of Coconut Creek on November 17^th for having a holstered gun on school property. A school staff member alerted the officers to Levy’s presence as he was by Building 11. At this time, there is no evidence that Levy unholstered the weapon. The campus is clearly marked with signs reading “No firearms allowed on premises.” Despite recent changes to open carry gun laws here in Florida, guns are still not allowed on school property. Levy is currently in the Broward County Jail.
